Truly gorgeous wintry scenes out there this afternoon, make the most of it as there are a few drips now, and I'll bet the trees aren't looking as white by the end of the day! Still a few showers in the North Sea, I wouldn't rule out a few more lighter flurries this evening.

Wow, that's a great view, especially on a day like this!

Light snow started here.

Edit - hmm, it seems a bit sleety

Snow pellets here, and the temperature has shot up to 1.5C! An intense band of snow has suddenly developed to the east of Teesside, and I think this is the northern edge of it.

The showers further out are moving E-W now rather than NE-SW, so I ink we could be in for one final dumping tonight before the onshore flow fizzles out.

Snow warnings have been issued for a number of counties in the west on Friday there must be some growing confidence at the met office of a snowy Friday now for some the question is will snow make it here the beebs forecast this morning suggests it will as it will on Thursday for some

I'm in a field near Darlington, blue ski and bright sun. Snow has gone from the trees now.

Just a quick question about the radar how far ahead does the paid version go? the free version is still on 14:30 at the moment does the paid one go further ahead?

Clear skies above hebburn!

Seriously? Light snow and grey skies here, although I can see some blue sky to my south west. On the radar it seems as though this shower is growing despite being over land rather than the sea.

If you are looking towards town then that's probably the blue sky I can see.
