Just looking at the latest radar, everything is starting to look very eastwards in regard to the wrap around. Could just about catch my backyard..... couple of hours to go though.

I thought the idea was that with the wrap around on the low pressure system we would see a couple of CM snow thought. Is this now old hat?

Looks like the low is rotating right over Norwich and pulling the precipitation band all over again, with possible showers on the back edge! I was losing faith on this event but now we might have a surprise over night clapping.gifgood.gif

No Tim but predicting our parts (I am 20 mins from Stortford as well as Cambridge) will not be known until the bulk of precipitation sweeps around the wash and hopefully comes at least south.

So I'm guessing this has moved up from Ipswich area as all seams to have gone now from this end!

A glance at the models - remaining very cold until the weekend at least, with a biting SE'ly wind accuentuating the cold towards the end of the week. Bitterly cold nights also in prospect.

yes id say norwich has it best, right on the pivot point. just over 1cm here, nothing this morning, big letdown as always. maybee another cm later woo hoo moan groan.

fridays event will almost certainly slip to the south or fizzle out too, thats if the uppers are low enough anyway.

and those predicted height rises over greenland progged probably wont happen either, as the initial trop response to the ssw (what we are seeing now) often seems to be better than the actual after effects of an ssw which is a shame, but we'll see..

pessamistic but i think realistic.

Bit of a disappointment in Braintree. A couple of cm of snow on the grass, mush on the pavements and nothing on the roads. Looks like nothing more heading our way either.

What happened to tomorrow's forecast snow?

Yep, it's now been snowing here for better than 3 hours, snow laying on previously gritted roads; current temp 0.6c.

In a good way for Norwich, or like eye of the storm meaning Norwich will get no more from the rotation?
