A friend in London (Chingford) has confirmed snow there, so it's more or less to sea level as it's moved SE.

Thanks!

I agree with you on the -5c isotherm coming back but I hope it's not after the winds change too much and strip us of any moisture from the Irish Sea, which is what is forecast. I'm hoping it will give us a few hours of wintryness as I've seen that happen before.

Winds aren't set to change until around midnight. :)

Nothing but rain here that has washed almost all of the snow away.

This is the best chance, as you say, 3- maybe 8 or 9 before the wind becomes too northerly and showers end up in N Wales instead.

Heavy snow shower here at the moment (near Carnforth) big flakes.

The colder uppers have already reached the far north of the region. The group of showers that is affecting you will move southeastwards to cross the region in the next couple of hours.

After that only the coastal areas will have showers as the wind turns northerly.

Gorgeous Alpine sunshine at midday. Then sleety icy rain for the past hour. Moving some of the snow. Wet and slushy underfoot.

Feeling bitter as a sneaky NW wind has picked up. Seems to have been calm throughout the last 2 days.

2.4C now.

Pouring with rain then turned quickly to sleet and wet snow, this is definitely the boundary of the -5 isotherm tracking SE!

Well we had a good snowfall this morning, some parts of it had thick flakes which is when it stuck. It was a whiteout but now the roads are slushy and the main ones clear.

Expecting further showers and a freeze tonight.

Yep rain washed it all away as quickly as it arrived, although we had a good hour of solid snow last night I didn't expect so no complaint from me.

What are the regions chances of more snow over the next few days? Next weekend looks promising but at this range anything could happen.

I know they are only for fun, but don't look at the GFS snow prediction totals if you live inside the NW coastal snowdome. A perfect semi circle showing 0cm.

Looks like another snow shower moving across to the N of here at the moment you can see that "foggy" effect you get when snow is falling.
