Update from High Wycombe:

I'm well inside the green sleety area according to the radar, but we still have snow.

Falling fast, alternating between small and large flakes. Not settling on roads and pavements but the trees are looking beautiful. Hope the evaporative cooling continues and we don't lose what we have!

Monday 14th January

YELLOW WARNING for SNOW for England.

An area of sleet and snow will come eastwards across England during the early morning, probably becoming light and patchy later in the morning as it slows down over eastern areas. However, later in the day it is expected to intensify again, at the same time turning back to rain in places. Through the day there is the risk of 5 cm accumulations in places, and more than that above 200 m. However, there is greater than average uncertainty at this range, especially in the extent to which snow affects southern counties, and it is quite possible that the Alert will be upgraded to an amber Warning if confidence increases. The public are advised to monitor the forecast and to be aware of the risk of disruption to travel.

Valid 0005 to 2355 Monday.

Light snow here in RP. Nothing settling and the dusting from the morning is all gone. Wrong side of marginal I'm afraid.

turned to rain about 15 minutes ago, everything washed away although nothing settled from the second front at all anyway, just washed away the little we had overnight.

Light snow TRENDING MODERATE in London W10. Very dry and fluffy thus far - north west London possibly benefiting as it comes over the Chilterns, from minimal heat island effect.

the leading edge of PPN is really pepping up- some greens on the radar ( echoes not sleet) - in a line from I guess Stratford out to Lee/bromley that sort of way

S

I'm sat right under that, but hasn't been falling as heavily as the radar would've suggested, IMO. Turned sleety a few mins ago, to boot.
