Welcome to the new thread everyone:

These regional threads are geared for a more general 'chatty' discussion to give all members a chance to post and talk about your local conditions, however, the forum is extremely busy at the moment so in the interests of keeping the regional threads running smoothly please before you post just think about whether you'd be interested in what you're saying were someone else to post it. Pointless one liners may well be deleted to ensure ease of use to all members during this period.

Whilst it's difficult to take the emotion and expectancy out of any likely upcoming event, everyone would really do themselves (and others) a favour by easing off with any disappointment and negativity.

I suspect most of us will be every happy with the next week (but I’m starting to think some people wouldn’t be happy if they got 2 foot of snow) but what ever happens we all enjoy weather so can we please talk about what may or may not be about to happen without winding up our fellow members.

Good luck everyone, enjoy your snow when you get it drinks.gif

Bleugh! The 18z run looks grim. Not much snow in the morning by the look of things. And what's amiss with the radar? It's showing absolutely NOWT. :o

Blimey that makes a change for Lowestoft! I'm at work in Colchester tonight and still nothing here, the drive home tomorrow should be interesting.

EDIT - Looks like the area between the main front and the trough in the North Sea is triggering a few showers to move down the coast. Looks as though more may be on the way for those right on the coast.

Well thanks to my coughing and spluttering (attractive, I know) here I am still awake!

Two observations

1) the precious holding together better than forecast - depending on, of course, how much of it is actually falling to the ground! (None here just yet)

2) Lates stansted airport TAF makes no mention of rain or sleet in the forecast - only snow. Same at Luton too.

Just about to go to bed and checked the radar one last time and the whole screen's pink. But no snow. Why?

Plenty to be happy about on the new Met Office forecasts:

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/ee/ee_forecast_weather.html

Very much so, and the last few NAE runs have brought that Snowline further and further south :)

Looking more optimistic for the Snowline to be the M25 now rather than the A120, with the uncertainty zone now down between M25 and the Thames (though in the city itself you'd expect more rain/sleet of course)

Just got up for work to find nothing. Bugger,

A quick look in the SE thread shows a few of them are seeing a little.

Fingers crossed for later...

Well 2 and a half hours sleep thanks to an inability to be able to breathe is likely to take the shine off things a bit today...told you this man flu was looking pretty serious :)

Anyways snow started here in NW Essex in the last 30 mins, already a nice dusting out there

Looking pretty good judging by the latest NAE for most of this region now, would suggest 2-5cms this afternoon/evening quite widely....we could top 12cms somewhere in the north I feel before this time tomorrow
