At 78 the cold's retreating back east, not a good sign but recoverable!

Massive shift west in my eyes, that's gone from a non event, to an event for Dorset.

East Ireland could end up being a snowy location, even though it's right on the periphery of the cold!

With Atlantic fronts pushing up against the block.

Let's hope for an 1982 renewal.

Quite an amusing run from the GFS at circa 102 onwards with the UK and Ireland being squeezed by approaching air masses. Minus 8 uppers from the East and minus 4 from the West. The easterly wins slightly.

Some decent snow event opportunities for the western half of the UK so far as the Atlantic fronts bump into the cold block with -6/-8c uppers, disruptive snowfall potential.

The Atlantic looks to be firing an undercutting cannon ball.

Edit - that doesn't want to undercut!

Weird, the GFS yesterday showed a non snow blip into the south and London.

gfs-2013011218-2-48.png?18

Tonight it has appeared again. Wonder what is causing that to show up.
