Yeh, the ppn in that front really looks to be fizzling out quickly as it passes over land. Cornwall and North Somerset might do better as the lump over the Bristol Channel seems to be holding up better.

1.7C, DP -3C, Humidity 71%

Current 0c with a dp of -3c. Starting rising a bit now though as the cloud comes in. The band is still far far quicker than nae is estimating

The warm sector is also struggling to maintain much precip ATM.

Well the radar says something is falling from the sky over my location......but nothing is outside!

Probably seagulls flying down here to sunbathe. lol.

very light sleet here, and I mean very light, certainly not plain old rain that's for sure as it's falling too slowly past the lamp post outside.

Apparently, from more knowledgable than myself in the wales thread, it is evaporating before it hits the ground. ;-(

If that's what's happening, that sucks :(

It would correlate with the radar!

For anyone who doesn't have a NW subscription, here is a free radar site:

http://www.raintoday.co.uk/

And for anyone who doesn't know how high they are, here's a good site to get your height above sea level:

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/

There's nothing in it other than the chance of a little snizzle - nothing coming tonight, tomorrow rain and the only way that stunning chart at 120hrs is going to do is downgrade as the week goes on as per everything proceeding this weekend. But then I don't mind too much as it keeps my staff at work!

But I'm confused about the other one, where does it say height?

Sorry to be a part pooper but the latest weather forecast i just watched at 17.57 on bbc news24 showed tonite's precipitation fizzling out before it reaches our area. Maybe the odd flake up in Glos.

Tomorrow's heavier band forecast to be all rain for ALL our region.

Try this for height, seems to work OK

Use this to look up the latitude and longitude of your address:

http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/geocode

Then, using the latitude and longitude, use this tool to find the altitude:

http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/elevation

Put your postcode into the search, that will bring your house up on an OS map, click the zoom out button once or twice and it will take you to a scale which shows contour lines (the Orange wiggly ones with numbers on them). Find your house, see which wiggly line is closest, the number on that line will tell you your height in meters above sea level.

Looking at Raintoday it does seem alot of the PPN fizzling out across the Bristol Channel, but there does seem to be a more PPN building up behind that,

So some may get lucky with a few flakes?

Interestingly Raintoday has Frome (IMBY) down for Snowgrains from 20:00..... let's see
