Nice to see the rainband hitting a shield and fizzing out on its way to the south west.

I thought it may hit around 6pm and the met say 9pm......why do I disbelieve them sometimes.

Please snow for a few hours while my kids are up *preys silently*

Woke this morning to watch forecast for this evening and it looked good , and now I look at radar and its completely fizzling out , saw the bbc weather and it said significant snow this evening for the midlands , but surely it has to pep up some what if its going to even reach central England?

Na, It wont.

Tbh, 5 days ago, Last night, Today and tomorrow looks amazing. Now ... Its not much at all.

I expect Friday to fizzle away an dnothing happen.

90% my thoughts, so many people pinning their hopes on every run's snow predictions! I think Friday's potential front won't

fizzle potential wise like today's/tomorrow's but rather it won't make the UK as it'll be beaten off by the HIGH block.

It wouldn't surprise me if more parts of our region get snow in an unexpected form this week rather than what's shown on the charts,

perhaps from showers moving in on troughs on the ENE flow from Tuesday/Wednesday.

Interestingly, that's what the GEM model suggests and is a very possible scenario. Whilst this wouldn't give us the blizzards the other models suggest, this would prolong the cold throughout the weekend, so not a bad option at all either.

I'm sure most on here would prefer to see the most commonly shown outcome to be the high blocking anything then a surprise when the front edges in enough to give snow rather than snow being the shown outcome then the front go to far east and it turn to rain afterwards. :)

Looking better for somerset than midlands at the moment

I was thinking similar but then I forgot there is the little issue of the welch mountains... aggressive.gif

You can guarantee tomorrow's rain front won't guzzle out. That will have no problem getting past the Welsh hills! :p :p

1.9 here in Yatton.

Looks like its going to be a rainy mix around the North Somerset coast, before turning more to snow as it moves inland of the Bristol Channel.

Thats just going by the radar and IMBY

Look at the scatter on the short ens suite for the West Country;

Anything there from the Atlantic taking over as soon as Wednesday to the cold continuing right through the weekend and into next week.

Either way, cold at the surface for the foreseeable;
