Went to bed at 1 am after waiting for snow, then fell asleep, but then I woke up at 4 to see a text from my mate saying there was a light dusting where he was, so I checked the radar and had seen there was a load of precipitation over us. So I looked outside and was greeted to light snow falling :D, there was a slight dusting on the top of car roofs but that was it. It decided to get a little heavier with bigger flakes about half an hour later and it had made the roofs more white and most of the cars :D, But it had gone by 6am and everything was just really wet as the temperature shot up.

Either way I was happy to see snow fall and put a smile on my face, yaaay :D

Raining steadily here now. Lying snow beginning to disappear. Temp +2C

So many birds on feeders today - often a sign of colder weather to come.....

Will the southwest ever get a decent snowfall this winter, we always seem to be too mild by one or two degrees arghh.....I know there's still the rest of winter but I am starting to think that the SSW is a storm in a tea cup for us down here and I really thought it would a nationwide event instead of always being the south East and North that get the snow

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
