BBC Forecast - Real mixture, rain sleet and snow

ITV Forecast - No mention of rain and sleet, just snow, warning of 10cm over higher ground, showed snow showers Tuesday and Wednesday

Not even the bleeding weather forecasts are consistent channel to channel

as again, for uk,as án island, prone to zonal weather,(atlantic) driven snow is very hard predict, and usualy carries flash warnings ......to which we will see..;-)..LOL.

So how does it look for West Sussex.im sorry I keep asking this is just a family member has a long journey on Monday and tuesday

if the 'warm sector' materialises, west sussex will be in the area most affected, i.e. rain/sleet for a time during the middle part of the day. (less snow) either side of that time, snow. if the warm sector stays further south and west then it will be all snow. amounts will be decided on the day. however, if your family member has a long journey, they will most likely hit disruptive snow somewhere along the way. if we hit the snow jackpot, they probably won't be going anywhere!

Of course from that chart it is possible without knowing the other parameters. The question is though, in this ever changing dynamical situation, how likely is that chart to verifying? Hopefully it will!

As far as the BBC forecasts are concerned. I've just seen the forecast at 10.57 and I agree it wasn't great for London. However, remember how slow the BBC are to update their forecasts. The nae 18z is an upgrade from the 12z, no question about it and this will no way have been reflected in the BBC forecasts yet....in fact the latest forecast reflects the output from 12z nae and not the 18z. I fully expect the BBC graphics to look much better by morning so keep the faith. Look at jp's analysis of the fax charts and 18z nae as best guidance :)

Shame we lose bluearmy and teits after the split model thread.....I guess its back to switching between the two threads....

Like others, I have ventured over from the dark and scary EA thread to say good luck to everyone here. Remember, don't listen to everything some people say, as some will certainly be going out to wind people up, or will have an agenda. However, I'm sure you'll all do well, and have fun!

Which thread should a lost Surrey sheep be posting/being disappointed in?

I'm so confused.....

You are more here in SE thread than East Anglia surely?

Mark, us Surrey-ites are definitely SE not EA. But if you really are a sheep then EA may be your natural home!

Hi all, lurker since the good old 'slow watch' days. Remember that? Lol! Latest nae and faxes look pretty good to me and in such a dynamic situation there will always be changes especially considering the vast array of data available these days. Expect further changes. Also if you don't get what you want on Monday, all is not lost as models suggest further chances of the good stuff thereafter. In the flow suggested into tuesday and Wednesday, I would not be surprised at a few troughs in the flow which could easily penetrate inland. And you know what it feels like winter outside :)

Ah, thank god JP's on here to bring a bit of sanity back to this thread. Moaning/groaning/negative posts at the moment are completely beyond my comprehension. Just go back 10 days, check the charts and then compare to what we have now; all the models are stacked with potential for this week (and possibly beyond). I would say that we are best placed in the whole UK to benefit from this. I bet those from the west would be shaking their heads at some of the posts in here this evening!!

Even if we do get a modest accumulation of snow on Mon/Tues, I can't see it staying on the ground fore longer than a day. Ground temps 2-3C plenty of sunshine..

Sorry to jump in.

Looks nice enough.

Pressure a tad high though.

But great flow for a Streamer I reckon.

Decent wind speed, very low uppers and a warm N.Sea.

Could produce...

One to watch!
