I think the overall picture needs addressing here.this is a developing situation, with upgrades and or downgrades inevitable, and remembering, precip,in the form of snow is by far the hardest precip, even for the most seasoned forecaster,my view is with all in the reliable, and upper air temps, in our part, most if not all will be falling white. But with bigger doubts(as always) raised for southern coastal regions.

Hi John, yet again many thanks for your interpretation.

I am going to post my new weather station readings for the last time tonight (probably):

Temp: far too high

Dewpoint: hopeless

Pressure: not conducive

Wind direction: extreme south-westerly

Preciptation type: tropical rain

Wet bulb: not just wet, soaked

SSW: TTFN

Honestly, reading some of the posts tonight it could have been right!

NAE looks fine, snow inland across all parts of the South-East.

Never had much interest in GFS precip output.

I've told everyone I know to expect heavy snow on Monday. I'm going to look like a right idiot if it starts pouring with rain.

Hmmm, well I just bought a sledge and I've had a bet with my brother - if it snows, he does my garden for a month in spring, if it doesn't, I cook him a lamb roast next sunday.

I've gotta say, the sheer pleasure of handing him the keys to the garden shed and the absolute smugness it will bring is what I'm hoping for (that and the pleasure of loving the snow)..... But on a positive note, I do cook a damn mean roast...

I always thought Kent did really well with snow and thunderstorms, I remember when I lived there for a year back in 2004/2005ish, soon as I arrived there was thunderstorms pretty much most of the day, then in the winter I remember alot of snow fell on one week kept falling in the mornings.

Then I moved back to Hampshire and nothing happens haha. So I'm sure you guys in the south east will do well sometime next week. Looking at the charts it looks pretty cold all week, and snow always pops up somewhere, well most times anyway.

BBC Forecast - Real mixture, rain sleet and snow

ITV Forecast - No mention of rain and sleet, just snow, warning of 10cm over higher ground, showed snow showers Tuesday and Wednesday

Not even the bleeding weather forecasts are consistent channel to channel

Silly idea to split up the thread.. The information pool has effectively been halved.

I have an idea that will raise the IQ of both threads......
