For those unsure on Where to go, I'd recommend checking both......

However, I'd Say Sussex, Kent, South Essex, London for the SE

Then N Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambs, E Beds for EA,

We're all grownups, so please feel free to place yourself wherever you feel Geographically appropriate....

Sorry Norfolk & Herts...... EA I'd suggest, but up to you.

:(

The one that was on BBC 1 did just now. Maybe a light dusting from the first frontal system but the second one was all rain for our region with the snow further north.

Matt, this far out it really doesn't mean much - rough indication only. It might turn out to be right but none of us will know until the front gets here, there is so much uncertainty

From the last thread...

Latest fax charts are out.

96 hrs http://www.meteociel...ax96s.gif?12-12

I don't think many on this thread will complain!

I see people are worrying about Monday... This is the first time that I have seen people taking gfs close range snowfall forecast seriously in 9 years on here. Go for one of the high res close range models like the NAE... It may still change but I am increasingly confident that for Reigate, at least, it will be snow!

Latest NAE gives a good indication of a snowy evening and night Mon/Tues as that feature sinks further south. A little snow, then rain for some places which will certainly include me, but then what could be a quick change back to snow, and quite heavy persistent snow at that. Taking an overview and anticipating forward from all the 'will it' won't it' during Monday itself the outlook for the south eastern corner looks very promising indeed with heavy snow showers quite likely in the north easterly afterwardsangel.gif

try and do the fax charts and see what these say

PPVE89.gif?31415

UW24-6.GIF?12-18

UW24-594.GIF?12-18

tomorrow looks mainly dry

weak easterly wind aound anglia way

strong around the south east

light showers of snow are possible for the far south east

PPVG89.gif?31415

monday night looks bitterly cold

staying mainly dry

freeezing fog and temps between -3 to-6

PPVI89.gif?31415

UW48-6.GIF?12-18

UW48-7.GIF?12-18

monday

starts dry

during the afternoon from 2pm onwards the front from the north west

hits the south east

now the warmer mix of air in my eyes is way to the west of london

expect whats hits from that to be snow

i will point out that the front does look weaker than last night

PPVJ89.gif?31415

UW60-6.GIF?12-18

UW60-7.GIF?12-18

monday night

-6 to -8 uppers

fully under 528 dam air

heavy snow and very cold

sub zero temperatures

UW72-594.GIF?12-18

UW72-7.GIF?12-18

UW72-6.GIF?12-18

tuesday

snow showers some heavy throughout the day

sub zero temperatures

winds east to north east

update rest soon

Fantastic. Sums it up perfectly. As someone put, we never trust GFS run...why now!? NAE has snow on Kent, away from the south coast. North Kent coast down to Lydd will see snow from that (very rough) but its not doom and gloom. The front may still stall?! We don't know what will happen, if you do, you should be the chief of the met office!

I'd dabble in the Midlands and EA... but then I can never decide on anything.....

Folks, nobody will get in trouble for posting in the *wrong* place. Check a couple of regional threads if you feel 'twixt. I do...

I've told everyone I know to expect heavy snow on Monday. I'm going to look like a right idiot if it starts pouring with rain.

The 18z is an improvement on the 12z run

- First front reaches us, gives 1-3cm across our region

- Second front turns largely to sleet and rain across the Midlands, remains so over us turning mostly to rain
