Lovely yamkin

Better get some kip now

Talk later

Same here JP. Woke up with that warm glowing tummy feeling and just had to quickly view the models with delight. According to UKMO, -4c upper temps will be over the SE from 12h which indicates a wintry mix biggrin.pngclap.gif

Some rain here, but temp is only 2.1c.

Looking forward to snow opportunities from this evening onwards! :)

Well that was worth waiting up for ! Bed now I think 😴😴

I know, great charts and it prolongs the cold to next week and beyond! Lets see what the ECM says!

Flipped on its head. BUT remain calm. This was always going to be a rollercoaster. That chart is well beyond FI at T72. A hell of a lot of uncertainty.

As for Monday, I'd be interested to see the speed of that system and whether it stalls over our region.

One thing is for certain - I wouldnt want to be a forecaster right now!

I'm noticing the fact that the GFS is putting any breakdown further and further back.

But anyway, still looks fine for Monday's, into Tuesday's snow on the 0z.

Morning all, big up to John and his great updates and great to see Yamkin back to his old ramping self ;-)

I've got me NW radar subscription renewed (thanks Surrey) and there is mostly rain around but sleet from Wolverhampton down to North London and showing it turning to snow around Wolverhampton now.

Monday Tuesday looking better and better each day which is great because normally as the events get closer they seem worse.

As for beyond that, i'd advise not to take anything beyond T72 for granted.

The models just don't know how to handle our current weather. This may be due to the stratosphere thingy who knows.

For now chance of snow today but doubt it will settle and then the debate on whether to go to work Monday and risk getting stuck in a snowy rush hour jam in the evening help.gif

If the front stalls, we will get a lot of snow!

I fully expect the met office to update the warnings today for amber for us...

That would be wonderful! I have however noticed that for my area meto have changed from light/heavy snow showers to light snow and sleet for Monday. The length of time (for snowfall) has been shortened and it seems to have brought the timing forward as well. ph34r.png

Too early to worry about amounts yet. If the front just goes through, then maybe only 5 cms typically. If it slows or develops on the front then we might double that. at least it hasnt shifted track particularly.

Alex Deakin has tweeted that there will be snow showers in the East tonight. Hopefully that includes East Anglia.
