Okay, have now added that (as 11.0, maybe you meant 11.1 but whatever). My brain might have frozen at the second decimal and moved on to safer ground.

Thank you Roger..

I did mean 11.01C as there were already several 11.0C.

I thought yoiu were allowed to go to 1 hundredths.!!

As far as I know, the scoring is always based on one decimal and you can't jump ahead of the earlier 11.0 guesses with an 11.01 that is closer to 11.02 or any higher value, if that was the thinking, you're stuck with 11.0 in the order you posted (J10 can confirm this, I don't do the scoring).

I did check to see if your guess was after the other 11.0 guesses, and as a result, have moved your name ahead of J10 in the list as you went earlier.

The scores are indeed based on one decimal point as the CET figure itself is based on one decimal point.

Just seen your reply.

I was indeed trying to beat the other 11.0's.

You saw through it though!

Monthly figures confirmed at 8.9c

Weather-history was "spot on" for April and three were 0.1 C out -- CongletonHeat and Midlands Ice Age with 8.8 C and Thundery Wintry Showers at 9.0 C.

Seasonal Scores -

1. I remember Atlantic 252 and DAVID SNOW both on 475 points.
3. Stargazer on 470 points.

Annual Scores - (Last Month in Brackets)

1 (2) I remember Atlantic 252
2 (1) davehsug
3 (3) reef

Interesting this month that the average guess was 9.9c some 1.0c above the final 8.9c figure.

There was also a pattern that the later entries did slightly better than earlier ones.

Above post will not edit, so for now listing these additional on-time entries:

15.8 ... Don

14.7 ... J 10

This makes 56 on time forecasts and the median is 15.5 C.

My edit option keeps disappearing within hours of posting, so I need to add this:

J10 now at 15.2 not 14.7; he says he is late although I thought he was in on the stroke of midnight. ;)

The other four in this list are one day late for certain:

15.6 ... coldest winter

15.3 ... Doctor 32

(15.2 ... J 10)

15.1 ... easy-oasy

15.0 ... snowray

This makes 60 entries in total and the median at 15.4 C.

The above was also just one day late, meanwhile at three days late we have

15.5 ... SUMMER BLIZZARD

That makes 62 entries and changes the median to 15.5 C.

Table of Forecasts July 2017

A new look to this table, all the forecasts are aligned after a briefer note of CET data for same temperature values. The monthly extremes are left out of the table (25.2, 29th 1948 and 8.7 on 20th, 1836). Recent years from 2001 to 2016 can be found in the original post in the July thread. Only the top and bottom five extremes (possibly including a recent coldest year) and the recent 30-year averages are shown. Century averages can also be found in the original post. This should make the forecast table easier to navigate on all platforms (he said as if he understood what that meant). :)
