5.7 mm here in the first half of July, the lowest amount for the first half since 1987 when 4.3 mm was recorded.

Bang on 6mm here this month, the grass is starting to tinge already. 13 days so far without a drop,Not good TM..

Just 2.1mm here in Weston for July so far. Things are starting to look brown.

 

Strange to think, it was only about 6wks ago that a field I drive past every day on my way to work finally dried out after it flooded  April/May last year.

Going for the driest July on record only 4.7mm so far. The record was in 1977 with 12.2mm so an easy target to get too. One rogue shower could shatter it.

Yesterday was the 15th consecutive day without measurable rain here, equalling the July record set in 1982. I did record 17 consecutive rainless days in July 1971 but that was at a different site so not strictly comparable.

So 25.8mm this summer so far compared to 333.8mm to this date last summer!

It looks very likely in Leeds that we will have our third twenty day period this year with less than 10mm.

We're on 2.4mm this month so far. Locally the driest is 1913 with 4.5mm but as with TM above that was a different site 6 miles away,

The driest in the last 50 years was 1977 with 16.5mm, which looks quite likely to be beaten as it stands.

Just 17mm of rain in the past 30 days here and just 5mm for the 18 days of July

Another 0.3mm to add to the total. So I wasn't hearing things this morning when I thought I heard water going down the drain.

Only 16 days without rainfall, disappointing. Still the third 20 day period this year with less than 10mm.

0.5 mm of rain overnight brought to an end the 'absolute drought' at 17 days. This is the longest spell here without measurable rain during the summer months since 1995 when there was a spell of 21 consecutive rainless days.

Just 0.2mm here TM, never the less, this also ends the drought of 17 consecutive days.

17 days here as well without any measurable rain. A couple of traces though so not totally dry in the period.

Oh well yesterdays rainfall stopped any chance of a new record so up to around 17mm for the month.

39.4 mm here after 33.2 mm ( split over two 'rainfall days') from yesterday's storms and heavy showers.

Just 5mm here compared to the 90mm average. Though looks like this will increase significantly before the month is out, unlikely to get above average though. Everything needs a good watering.

7.6mm at Church Fenton, so still very dry, but amazingly the grass has really perked up and has taken on a much greener luck.
