the 09z Thorshavn show the wind from 200 degrees and presuure now falling at 4.5mb per 3 hours, pressure is 967.4mb, it had been falling through the night at about 9mb per 3 hours. If you go back to the links I gave yesterday the centre is perhaps split into two at the moment, the XC weather shows just one elongated centre, Fax shows two. It appears to have tracked about ese or se over the past 9 hours.

see post 205 for links

Looking at the Sat Imagery gives a good run through of how its gone the las 12 hrs. http://www.yr.no/satellitt/europa_animasjon.html

Eumetsat page with the 00z data shows the cold red airmass on its way.. http://www.eumetrain.org/eport/euro_00.php?width=1366&height=768&date=2013091500&region=euro

Breezy, constant rain winds moderate at times, enough to give the foliage a good shake..

Beginning to look a bit more lively over Ireland now. Overall still much quieter than I would have said yesterday at this time.

Did anything happen Cookie?

Watching the Great North run looking pretty quiet there as well. Brollies up without any problems.

Just drove back from Glasgow and about 15 miles south of the city the roads were pretty bad - heavy driving rain and very poor visibility.  Car was shaking about a bit due to the wind but can say nowhere near as strong as I expected it to be at this stage.

On a positive note amazing city!

Averaging 21 mph here now Max gust 43 mph. At the moment it's looking like the rain will be the noteworthy event as the front still looks intense. It's got to survive the Sheffield shield though which shreds active cold fronts as well as T Storms.

The front moving south was always just a bonus, the true storm is still out across the Atlantic soon to make inland across western Scotland by tonight when the pressure gradient makes its effects felt. I'm just watching for any squall to develop along the line now across Northern England as this could bring down some convective gusts from the 850hpa region to surface.

The wind is still to arrive. Even so, it's getting quite breezy already. I wonder what this afternoon/evening will hold, here? Highest Gust Today: 21 mph 11:52. Highest Wind Speed Today: 12 mph 11:59. :D

Jo's been out to meet the storm this morning:

More here too:

The Hoolie Arrives - And More To Come This Week

Looks wild up there today nothing like that here in the NE with the strong winds still to arrive looks like some more intense rain is on the way maybe the winds will pick up with that? gusts of just over 30mph are still forecast by the met office for this afternoon

It looks heavy on the radar I know (we are the red dot) but I can confirm its very light and intermittent

Front beginning to decay rapidly now. Surprised how much it's weakened in the last ten minutes.

It's obviously the Sheffield shield, now back up to full strength after needing to recharge after summer. Posted Image
