Temperature still only -2.5c with unbroken sunshine and everything covered in thick rime.

What a pity the milder weather is likely to arrive before 0900 tomorrow and spoil a low maximum temp'.

Currently -1.7c under cloud which has been moving in all morning after an overnight low of -7c under starry skies. This is now our third ice day in December 2012.

not quite an ice day as after falling below zero C around 15z yesterday it then hovered around zero C +/- until the early hours of this morning, a low of -5.3C and a 'high' today since dawn of -0.2C and currently on -1.7C

Certainly the coldest 24 hour period since the notable cold of December 2010, now freezing fog rolling in from the west and SW. Not often it comes from that direction here.

What a lovely cold crisp winters day, temp never above -1.9c all day and now dropped to -4.6c, freezing fog has never realy lifted only briefly around lunch, but it's leaving that winter wonderland hoar everywhere.

Agree TM, what a shame it will all be gone by tomorrow :-(

Now become foggy with temperatures back down to -2.5C after a peak of -0.8c. Rising temps tonight should mean the high will be after midnight which will mean no ice day for me.

Wind F1 NE

Rainfall Nil

Early freezing fog cleared by 0945 to leave the morning dry and sunny apart from a continuous fall of ice crystals for about an hour from 0830, seemingly from a clear sky. The sunshine lasted into the early afternoon before the sun disappeared behind a layer of Ci to the south west, this then obscured by mid-afternoon as shreds of St fractus developed into a sheet of St which gave hill fog at times above 320 m from about 1500 onwards.
