hi gtltw

could try but the time these posts take could be a problem

not sure why you cannot get them as seem ok when i recheck them

No probs, John. I get them all but when you post up to a dozen or so charts at a time, it takes a long time to view them individually, that's all.

It might be an individual PC issue so not really sure. Just keep posting that's what really matters.

Absolutely John, this one is interesting to follow as it could give members leads or pointers for other events this Winter. I've just had a look here and they are not forecasting anything Wintry let alone precipitation on the mainland this week:

Looks like you'll be joining me on the naughty step later Steve!

Yes and she knows what I look like and is in my neck of the woods too. ohmy.png

It looks like there will be light snow at most then in the next few days and then very disturbed at the end of the week, with potentially heavy rain. Whether the block to our east is eventually eroded, or comes storming back later on, who really knows? Hopefully it'll happen.smile.png

In the meantime I'm starting to look forward to Christmas now, whatever the weather.biggrin.png

Hi John,

Sounds like a probable Thumbnail issue my end. Whatever, it appears its just an issue for me so that's it and it all about it I suppose.

Coast will be looking into it for me, as and when he gets a minute, so I can but hope he can make things easier for both of us.

As I said before, just keep the charts coming as they are invaluable to all of us.

Brilliant, what a lovely bunch of people. I wish I'd gone now.

Who's trying to get MK Angel drunk? :D

She was unable to hold the bottle herself by that point, so I had to give her a hand. wink.png

Probably a result of my 'whiteout' spectacles, but there might be a sprinkling of snow this evening?

I must admit that I hot link a lot of charts from the source data or site. I know it's not good ethics on the web as you are using other peoples bandwidth, but it means I can post a linked picture rather than an upload. The drawback is that if the source data updates or gets changed, so does the inked picture, but I think they are easier to read through than uploaded ones?

Hi guys. You're right enough, it is all rain. But, if the colder uppers happen to coincide with precipitation, we could still (just about) be in business?? 1800 hours until around midnight would be my wishful-think?

I wonder why the Daily Express or Sun or whoevers headline doesn't state the following today.

SORRY FOLKS, WE LettuceED UP, THE EASTERLY IS CANCELLED AND THE REST OF WINTER IS LOOKING NORMAL.

rofl.gifrofl.gifrofl.gif

A rather uninspiring rollout from the GFS 6z within the reliable, it must be said.

Current alert level: Level 3 - Cold Weather Action

Issued at: 0826 on Mon 10 Dec 2012

There is a 90% probability of severe cold weather/icy conditions/heavy snow between 0900 on Monday and 1500 on Thursday in parts of England. This weather could increase the health risks to vulnerable patients and disrupt the delivery of services. Please refer to the national Cold Weather Plan and your Trust's emergency plan for appropriate preventive action.

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/cold-weather-alert/#?tab=coldWeatherAlert

Showers will move across eastern England today, most frequent and heaviest along the coast, but possibly wintry inland. Overnight many areas away from the east coast will have a sharp frost, with perhaps patchy freezing fog forming in the west. Any freezing fog could be slow to clear tomorrow, and also Wednesday, leaving to a very cold day in many places. Even where long sunny periods occur Tuesday and Wednesday it will be cold or very cold. During Tuesday the showers in the east gradually die away, leaving the rest of the period mainly dry.

An update will be issued when the alert level changes in any region. Alerts are issued once a day by 0900 if required and are not subject to amendment in between standard issue times. Note that the details of the forecast weather are valid at the time of issue but may change over the period that an alert remains in force. These details will not be updated here unless the alert level also changes, the latest forecast details can be obtained at the following link: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/#?tab=map
