no frost although possible ground frost soon after 0300 with a low of 1.8C its now 3.4C with half cover CuSc and no wind

A mainly cloudy night with light showers yesterday evening. The cloud sheet eventually cleared between 0630 and 0730 allowing a ground frost to develop and turn everywhere into a sheet of ice again.

Currently sunny with a few fog patches in the valley bottoms.

After I posted skies cleared allowing temps to drop to 2C.

The Journey into the peak district this morning was entertaining. The A621 ungritted leaving several vehicles in the ditches and places like Mony Ash covered in black ice. Snow had melted and then frozen leaving the footpaths with grass showing through sheet ice in places,

Temp now 5.2C
