With the new northern England threads - it's been pointed out that my fellow Yorkshire people are left threadless!

Can't have that! :)

A dull and very cold day, with the temp around 1c. I'm not expecting much rain here later, as it will struggle to get past the pennines.

Brilliant!! smile.png Saves trawling through loads of posts to find more relevant ones.

Temp is now 0.9C with dew point of -3.6C.

Odd flake blowing about in the increasing wind.

still reckon we may get an hour or two's snow before turning to rain.

Here's my pic i posted earlier showing current conditions here in Scarborough looking towards the Wolds.

Even if today is a non event we can take some comfort in the output the models are churning out for next week. It looks a little marginal at times here on the coast but smaller details like that not worth too much worry till closer the time!

Where in the Tarn u snowflake88?

Here in Darton, few small flakes blowing around in the wind.

Looking out west toward the pennines, they are slowly dissapearing under white precip! should'nt be long now.

Seems that the band is intensifying but struggling to get over the Pennines. Up at 2.3C here now so it would have to be heavy stuff to provide enough evaporative cooling to give lying snow.

It is taking forever. Made practically no progress over the last few hours, really frustrating as it's literally on my doorstep

So is that East Ayton you're at, almost looking towards Staxton? 0.7 here now, DP -2. Light patch of blue over us on the radar, but just an odd flake in the wind. Mmmm flake, the crumbliest, flakiest type of snow.
