0.5cm of lying snow last night for about 2 hours, either side of midnight. Not a trace of it left when I got up at 0600.

Still, it's a start and it's the first lying snow here this winter.

Sleet reported at Leek Thornecliffe at 5am this morning from the shower stream coming off the Irish sea. This could well turn increasingly to snow throughout the day.

Between 09:30 and 15:00 I had frequent heavy snow showers, leading to 4cm on the grass and temporary coverings on concrete surfaces. Then an almighty deluge occurred this evening dumping an extra 4cm in half an hour. Total depth is 8cm on the grass, and 5cm on everything else.

It's a winter wonderland out there now :)

There has been snow or sleet on most days here at Sandhutton, but nothing more than a brief dusting on the ground. Sleet followed by freezing rain during the early hours of the 1st, a spell of snow followed by rain on the 3rd, sleet mixed with rain late on the 4th, and two snow/graupel showers on the 5th.
