OMG The USA really know how to hype up the situation

seen worse at woolacombe.

Seems you really know how to underhype it lol.

Atlantic city has equalled it's lowest ever barometric pressure reading, and will likely break it soon, whereas Battery currently is having a rapidly rising surge already 6ft.

For anyone interested in following the events live......

The ABC local affiliate in New York City. Not bad so far, but the usual stuff with some poor junior reporter trying to stand upright on some storm lashed intersection......

Totalling up the numbers without power, it is already reaching 400 to 500 thousand right now and obviously much more to come.

The storm is 55 miles ENE of Cape may where it is expected to make first landfall. Currently going at 28mph, so it will not hit for at least an hour, and maybe 2 hours unless it speeds up. Not good news because the tides are rising fast. Now almost a million people without power too, and that number will rise very fast when this storm makes landfall.

Not so - Cape May looks like getting the eye.

Looking at satellite, I'd say landfall in an hour, max 1 and a half.

It's going at a brisk pace, but it'll slow right down to a crawl when it hits land.

Aggy - http://www.ustream.t.../chasercam-live

Currently down, but should be back up soon, and they are in Cape May, where it is meant to come on land. Also reports coming in now that it is no longer classified a hurricane despite having 90mph+ sustained winds still. Forget that, reports seem to be invalid.
