How can 'audio-frequency' signals travel through a vacuum? That said, there are myriad sources of electromagnetic 'noise' one could think of...

Article makes it clear this is electro-magnetic radiation between 0 and 10kHz that has been digitally sampled and converted to an audio signal.

Sounds like every radio I ever tuned into Radio Luxembourg - not sure if that was just the early pop music or meandering signals from near space!

You could almost picture Captain James T Kirk squinting in confusement as this is played on the Bridge of the USS Enterprise. Turning to Spock for answers, all he gets is.."Fascinating.!"
