A Short Late October Warm Spell In 1996

There was a short warm around the 23rd and 24th October 1996 when maxima got into the 20s as tropical maritime air flooded the country from the south.

21.4C was recorded at Red Wharf Bay in Anglesey

21C at London Weather Centre

20.5C at Heathrow

20.1C at Northolt

19.9C at Tivington

19.6C at Gravesend

19.5C at Nottingham

And here it is, November 1996 is normally remembered for the wintry 2nd half but it started off very mild.
