Duncan Bannatyne Suffers Suspected Heart Attack

Darlington based entrepreneur Duncan Bannatyne has suffered a suspected heart attack.

DRAGONS' Den star and Darlington based entrepreneur, Duncan Bannatyne, has suffered a suspected heart attack.

The businessman has been admitted to Darlington Memorial Hospital for tests.

His daughters are understood to be by his bedside.

Bannatyne, 63, who runs a popular gym company, fell ill while at work in Darlington this morning.

Paramedics attended his new head offices today in Darlington.

He had chest pains and was feeling "very unwell" and has been admitted to Darlington Memorial Hospital for tests for a suspected heart attack.

A spokesperson for The Bannatyne Group said: “Everyone at the company is very concerned and upset, but we know that Duncan is a very strong person and we are confident he will make a full recovery.

"Everyone wishes him well. We’d like to thank the quick and professional actions of the paramedics who attended to Duncan and thank the staff at the Memorial Hospital for his ongoing care.â€

It is believed to be the first incident of this nature that the Scot has suffered.

The latest series of Dragons' Den is currently being shown on BBC2.
