Has the foam been posted yet? Amazing.

Picture I took in Whitby in November 2006. Same effect as in Footdee.

Can anyone update me as to what the latest is with regard to this depression, I think otherwise I might have to turn to drink myself. Posted Image

Think South Yorkshire may get some more rain in the coming hours, but not as heavy as before.

It's started raining again in Malvern, that means the system is coming back over us again, and we're likely in for another drenching during the night. Hope the leaking roof doesn't get any worse. Posted Image

Could nadine throw another child at us

She could but at the moment this is very unlikely, her days are far from over though - She wanders aimlessly around in the Atlantic for a good while yet.

It is pivoting around it's axis just as suggested by the models, but perhaps not losing it's intensity as quickly as expected? NW & NE England is really under the hammer from this afternoon and early evening already, it looks like the rain will stay pretty heavy in some areas for another couple of hours at least. The immediate south/western flank has weakened more quickly. The heavy rain off the SW coast looks like it will sweep up the channel later. It's been dry here for a couple of hours - the 'eye' is just off the coast from me.

It has actually stopped raining here for the moment. Small mercies and all that.

Colwyn Bay AWS currently showing 58.8mm of rain having fallen today.

Evening all,

Just heard Peter Gibbs on News 24 state that this has been the most intense September depression since 1981.

Here's the archive chart for 20th Sept 1981, with the little lady responsible for that stormy early Autumn spell.

Sea foam on the Lancs coast north of Blackpool (Cleveleys) in gales last December.

Is it sewage or washing powder to blame?

The foam is amazing, but the commentary is even better!

Having looked at the rainfall radar and Met Office forecast maps it does look as though there are convective showers being drawn towards the UK from the channel - once the main prolonged rain event from this system clears it does look like a more thundery picture later tomorrow and into Thursday. It was thankfully a little easier getting home tonight, though roads are still partially flooded and the Dee is on the rise in its lower catchment. This is a crazy event, and I feel for those who have suffered from it.

There is still a slight possibility that Nadine herself could visit sometime in October, whenever she feels ready to eventually leave the Azores.

I emphasise the words "slight" & "possibility" though.
