Looks like we shall be over 3C below last October and even below last November's value.

Manley has the CET at 9.9C up to the 29th whereas Hadley had it at 9.8C which is unusual as Manley doesn't feature end of month adjustments? Perhaps Hadley will only feature a small adjustment this month?

Quite possible - maybe we wont get an adjustment at all - but we should be at 9.6C before adjustments (Unless today's max exceeded 11.8C, in which case we will stay at 9.7C)

Hadley is confirmed as 9.7C:

http://www.metoffice...cetml1659on.dat

The provisional value was actually 9.6C, so a rare adjustment upwards:

http://www.metoffice...t_mean_est_2012

9.7C is 1.0C below the 1981-2010 average, the fifth month in seven to be 1.0C or more below the average.

The same as October 2008 then. Although the arctic blast was more potent that month, there was a brief very warm spell around mid-month when temperatures peaked in the low to mid 70's for the south at least.

Manley also confirmed at 9.7C.

Its incredible how we can go from getting 6/7months more that 1c above average to getting 5/7months more than 1c below average in the space of 14 months. Todays chart is so typical of how its been since April. Low pressure over the UK feeding down a cool northerly airstream. Between September 2011 and March 2012 it couldnt have been more different. Hopefully it switches back in time for Spring.

Anyone a little bit disappointed that it wasn't cooler than it should have been? I feel like it should have been another 0.3C cooler but since the northerly, the nights just weren't as cold as first thought.

Me. If it had been 0.3C cooler my entry would have been spot on!

I was hoping for a sub -1C anomaly month, we haven't had one since December 2010 and I thought this month was going see it happen. It just wasn't to be.

I can assume we had a higher solar flux last year hence the higher temperatures.

November 2011 was the peak thus far although by historical standards we are still fairly low.

Pity they didn't adjust downwards slightly as my punt of 9.5C wasn't too shabby.

This months scores have been uploaded.

Isolated Frost got it spot on.

In the autumn comp the 1-2-3 is Isolated Frost, SteveB and Snowstorm1.

Overall no change in the top 4 with reef, DR Hosking, Thundery wintry showers, Kentish Man, with the comp probably now between the top 2.

Excellent, i could do very well in the seasonal.

Yearly not too bad all things considered although i believe in 05/06 or 07 i came 12th out of all those with 12 entries as opposed to my current 19th.
