A foggy start here with thick ice on the car, sun's coming through now.

Looks like it's going to be a nice day.

A lovely sunny and calm start to the day, quite a contrast to yesterday; certainly a cold start with a low of 3.9C here so some places around here may have had a ground frost at dawn, the lowest in my garden since 17 May.

the reports from Wx Online show 58 stations have reported a ground frost and 9 with an air frost.

First ground frost of the autumn last night.

Crystal clear and sunny today. Quiet and warm. Butterflies out.

My old grandmother, born 1889, had a name for the odd superb day in the middle of unsettled spells. She called it a "weather breeder". ie- an indicator of bad weather to come very soon .....

4.9C was the low overnight, which shows that the towns & cities (even though I am more rural) is still a few weeks away from achieving a frost.

It's 11.5C here with clear blue skies. :)

A fine day here with warmth quite pronounced in areas out of the breeze, but a cool feel when in it - about 16C. Incoming change of weather very obvious at present with thickening alto stratus and bands of lower cloud appearing from the west/south-west. Calm before the storm, but a very pleasant one.

A notably cold night with a min temp of 4.6C, making it the lowest in September since 2003. Partly cloudy with clear spells during the day but again rather cool with a max temp of 13.9C.

Currently clear and sunny with a temperature of 11.0C.

It could well be another very cold one before the cloud rolls in.

3rd consecutive sunny Saturday but while the last two have hit the 20s today was much cooler with a max of 13.7C following min of 3.1C.

Sunshine total 10.23 hours and we have now passed the monthly average of 130 hours as well as the appalling totals recorded by all 3 summer months.
