Just got our first quick shower well timed 5 mins after getting home!

Its been a preety uninspiring day here, with generally cloudy skies and one or two bursts of very shortlived showery rain, however, it has ended up far better than it was looking only a couple of days ago when the models were suggesting rain for much of the day. Its been an odd day in this sense, the radar images show looks of sporadic outbreaks of rain over the far north of england with no real organisation, hence some places have got very lucky as the rain seems to have stuck in some places but never transferring to others. We are positioned under the centre of the low and hence have not experienced any showers. Tomorrow looks a decent day here, but Monday looks very poor, overall this holiday weekend will probably end up ranking half decent, as opposed to generally poor as I at first thought it might do.

A nightmare of a day here with 28.4mm of rain, much of it falling in little over an hour and a half with peak rain rate of 117.6mm/hrohmy.png

Local burn has burst its banks and flooded like I have never seen before and there are reports of flooding across the city with cars submerged.

A miserable end to the worst summer ever seen in these parts.
