So after an eventful flight yesterday and Storms rumbling away until Midnight (8am Uk Time) meaning we had been up for 26 hours we pretty much fell asleep with Gunshot Thunder rattling the Hotel last night and just watched.

Today sees Day 1 proper of the Monsoon Storm Chase and we are going to focus North West of Phoenix in areas like Wickenburg and Jerome, quite hilly with views into valleys and the Desert Floor. SPC Have a See Text risk further North West towards Nevada and Southern California but I am hopeful of some Severe Storms closer to our base from 20z about Midday here.

Storms should be diurnally driven and die off around 10pm tonight.

Wish us luck

Regards

Paul S

This is an Incredible Storm at the moment here in Scottsdale, Constant Strobing Lightning and Shotgun Thunder, have lost the lights a few times, earlier went west on I-10 and got some nice Cg Lightning Pics, earlier in the day some really nice Monsoon and Desert Floor shots.

Pics will be soon but the Storm is too amazing to watch!

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
