My missus went to school many, many years ago with a classmate called Ophelia. Not a totally outrageous name if not a little unusual except that her surname was Balls.

Maybe all these years later I suppose she could have married a Mr Scrotum.

I was wanting to name my kids after characters in a Japanese anime called Dragonball/Z, Goku, Gohan, etc mainly because of what these characters stood for. Needless to say, I was declined by partner.

This thread reminds me of the "Fanny Schmeller" episode of The Chase. Classic

A guy in my snooker club is called Patrick Starr, I love spongebob.

I can imagine and that reminds me, not really a strange name, but someone I know who was in some of my friends history class had the surname Bates. This history teacher who I hear had a sense of humor, apparently addressed him as 'Master' while taking the register.. (not sure if it was just him he addressed as master), but anyway, it would go like this:

[insert name of previous person in register] followed by 'Master. Bates'

My 6th former friends found that rather amusing rolleyes.gif
