Rather disappointing for me today. Saw one storm but it died just before it got to me and that has been the story of the day really. There has been plenty of storms but none that have held on long enough for me to get to them.

Back home now and rather hopeful that tomorrow may bring more in the way of organised storms with a line of wind convergence likely to set up.

Me and Raidan are down in Clevedon at the moment and had torrential rain and thunder earlier, hoping more will come up from the south west

No way AWD, me and the mrs went up to Frocester, Wotton-under-edge and Stinchcombe, and yes it was a big mistake. Thankfully my dad phoned me asking if I was chasing as he was picking my brother up from Cribbs and said there was thunder and lightning to the north. We jumped into the car and made our way back. Very lucky.

Tomorrow looks nice!

Could be very interesting for Bristol and surrounding areas tomorrow. This from Ian Fergusson:

W COUNTRY: Some storm cells continue well into night. Repeat performance tomorrow: concern is how localised convergence will focus storms into some select areas, causing torrential downpours w local flooding/lightning risk. N Som/Bristol again in firing line.

W COUNTRY SUN: UKMO high-res modelling suggests 40-60mm rain locally possible parts of Som, N via Bris Chan areas; yellow warning applies

Thinking of taking the little one for a day out in Clevedon or Portishead tomorrow now. Two birds with one stone! Lol! drinks.gif

Managed to see a funnle cloud today east of lancaster. Got a couple of poor pics due to forgetting the batteries for the good camera.

There was lots of lightning around too but no pictures for you.

Maybe we can do better for Sunday, Metoffice going for South Wales and Southwest England in the firing line for some of the heaviest showers.

Just a couple of shots from today whilst racing back from the Stroud area to Almondsbury this evening after hearing about lightning in the area. Nothing too spectacular but the clouds looked creepy on the way there. Please excuse the blurry ones.

The cell that was out west near the Bristol Channel as just moved inland across Bristol now.

Got heavy rain here now, but of course, it has lost all its thundery activity.

nothing in the st helens and wigan area, of course.

Saw an interesting looking Cb to the west of me , and decided that I have had enough of this thunder vacuum known as wigan so i took a drive towards it and ended up parked up near manchester , where i was rewarded with two flashes of lightning and two cracks of thunder, one was close , but that was it, then drove home , oh well at least i saw a fork of lightning,

edit sorry should have said to the east of me, manc is to my east, i am having a red wine celebrating the fact i saw a cg todayblum.gif

Guess what?? Another bust here today....one distant rumble around 2.30 and a VERY distant rumble around 6....apart from that just some brief moderately heavy rain at 2.30; otherwise a dry day!

HaHa typical, look at all the intense activity running up the west, but a void around my area, then the activity starts again just further north with vigour i told you there was an anti storm force field here , that confirms it.
