Blue skies and sunshine here this morning and temperatures heading towards 16C. I expect to see some showers later on, nonetheless its a good start and see how today goes from here.

It was blue skies and sunshine for much of this morning but now all the blue skies have been pushed further west as quite ominous dark clouds move in from the east. The temperature is currently 21C which is one of the warmest temperatures of the summer so far. This what I would call typical, normal and pretty satisfactory summer weather.

Relatively cool here. The day started with some showers but these have grouped into parallel lines moving so that some areas miss them altogether. My home is one of these I'm glad to say. Rain now seems to be done. Quite blustery at times and cool when it does this - about 18C max.

Shocking - been a proper full-on summer's day here, with the radar showing big showers and storms passing within spitting distance - again.

One of the best days for thunderstorms here in the summer for a long while, about 4 hours of frequent thunder, over 10 different thunder storms/showers throughout the afternoon, eventually merging together to form a storm with frequent lightning, stretching about 10 miles in length

Dry and sunny throughout the morning, a brief downpour with occasional thunder at 2pm, sunny again from 2:30 to 6:30pm, and then some organised thunderstorms during the past hour and a half, mainly to the west of here but with a couple of overhead lightning strikes and bangs. Although the severest weather has passed away, there is still occasional thunder even now. The afternoon max was 23C.

More reminiscent of the sort of daily weather I'd expect from an unsettled summer spell in central/southern France than in north Yorkshire.
