Have to admit, I am loving the sunshine. However, (and I hate to moan after the weather we have had since April) but.....

It is a little bit too hot for me to enjoy and I wish the weather wouldn't go from one extreem to the other. Clear blue skies, 23c, a light cool breeze is my idea of perfect summer weather.

And you just know any prospect of a storm/storms as a reward for putting up with this heat and humidity won't materialize or will break out over Newcastle or something rolleyes.gif

Sorry to sound like a moaning minnie but I am too hot at my desk at work and am feeling a little grumpy!

I've arranged a get together at my local, so looking forward to this evening now!drinks.gif

That's if the A12 is charitable. The pig badly held me up twice last week in getting home, worst of all Friday evening!mad.gif

Nice..! actually, the thought of sitting in a pub garden in this weather does suddenly sound appealing! I think it's just because I am boiling hot at work, with a hot, packed train journey home ahead of me that has given me the grumps!

Enjoy this evening drinks.gif

Going to Cyprus this Saturday, and temps are apparently mid 40's.

The night time temps are about as hot as it is now. Bring it on.

Cracking day. Crystal clear blue skies, hot, not too humid.

I love the heat, so hotter the better in my opinion (except when the humidity gets too high).

It hit the big 30 here this afternoon, there is a nice gentle breeze in my back garden though so it didn't feel too hot just nice and relaxing with the wind chimes blowing and not sticky hot either as the humidity is only around 25% - I've just done some homemade burgers ready for the BBQ tonight...is it Pimms O'clock yet ?

Have a lovely evening everyone drinks.gif

All i hope for is for the opening ceremony to be in decent weather. We all know how to cope with rubbish weather in the uk, heaven knows we've had enough in the last few months.

But there's no denying that great though the Jubilee pageant was, it was marred by the atrocious weather and the low cloud spoilt what should have been great views of the London skyline, and stopped a helicopter flypast. We need half decent weather with high enough cloud base and not much wind for fireworks and lighting to look amazing, as well as for the performances to look their best.

FIngers crossed

27.1 c on the coast here today and with a breeze! higher than what I expected, maybe a tad higher tomorrow and then slowly cooling off by a few degrees.

Not loving this heat no more, my tire popped on the M25, luckily I was only doing 40mph because of speed restrictions.

Hello Biggin. From my recent experience of what you are facing, even if the sun doesn't shine it won't matter. The day in January that we buried my mother was pretty wet, freshly shined shoes covered in mud, ladies in pointy heels struggling a bit, but none of us came away thinking about the weather. Songs (hymns if you will), family, friends, a drink or 2, decent food, memories, tears and laughter and (again) memories. Rain is just something our earthly world chucks our way. I hope it goes well for you.

This is what the heat did to my car on the M25 just before the turn off for Waltham Abbey at around half 8 this evening, scary moment in which I never wanna witness a repeat of.

I hope so too, but even if it rains there might be a rainbow for you, I'll have a word with the other angels. I lost my Mum a few years ago.

My Mother's Garden

My Mother kept a garden

A garden of the heart

She planted all the good things

That gave my life its start

She turned me to the sunshine

And encouraged me to dream

Fostering and nurturing

The seeds of self-esteem

And when the winds and rains came

She protected me enough

But not too much, she new I'd need

To stand up strong and tough

Her constant good example

Always taught me right from wrong

Markers for my pathway

That will last a lifetime long

I am my Mother's garden

I am her legacy

And I hope today she feels the love

Reflected back from me.

I didn't feel so silly when there were 14,230 other people all dressed up too !

http://1066towncentr...s-world-record/

I'm not sure there are enough people in Cornwall to ever beat this new Guinness world record, anyway they are just smugglers in Penzance... the real Pirates are on the south coast !

It was an amazing atmosphere and great fun to take part in and now I can say I'm a 'Record Breaker'

You look fabulous. Well done on being a record breaker. :) Thanks for sharing photos. :D

No words from me. A lovely poem, Carol Ann Duffy.

We first met when your last breath

cooled in my palm like an egg;

you dead, and a thrush outside

sang it was morning.

I backed out of the room, feeling

the flowers freshen and shine in my arms.

The night before, we met again, to unsay

unbearable farewells, to see

our eyes brighten with re-strung tears.

O I had my sudden wish -

though I barely knew you -

to stand at the door of your house,

feeling my heartbeat calm,

as they carried you in, home, home and healing.

Then slow weeks, removing the wheelchair, the drugs,

the oxygen mask and tank, the commode,

the appointment cards,

until it was summer again

and I saw you open the doors to the gift of your garden.

Strange and beautiful to see

the roses close to their own premonitions,

the grass sweeten and cool and green

where a blackbird eased a worm into the lawn.

There you were,

a glass of lemony wine in each hand,

walking towards me always, your magnolia tree

marrying itself to the May air.

How you talked! And how I listened,

spellbound, humbled, daughterly,

to your tall tales, your wise words,

the joy of your accent, unenglish, dancey, humorous;

watching your ash hair flare and redden,

the loving litany of who we had been

making me place my hands in your warm hands,

younger than mine are now.

Then time only the moon. And the balm of dusk.

And you my mother.

hi biggin

fax chart for friday

PPVM89.gif?31415

fax chart for saturday

PPVO89.gif?31415

the fax chart for friday is exactly the same as last night

this creates a problem as we have a front moving down from the north

and also we have a plume moving up from the south

if you look at saturdays fax it shows the front has moved through from the north

it also shows the plume to our east

the timing of either one being delayed could make friday dry

if the one from the north gets here first it will be heavy rain

the plume from the south first would give us some impressive storms

hence my holding fire for the moment on friday

hope that helps
