Cold & very wet morning - absolutely horrible conditions this morning.

Sooner we get rid of this awful weather the better.

12.8c currently and I'm in the house drying next to gas fire after being forced to turn back due to rain.

The day dawned with almost 100% of the sky covered in Altocumulus. The cloud began to break soon after 07.00 and there has been plenty of sunshine with scattered Cumulus and, latterly, some TCu developing.

About 7 oktas of thin cloud cover with a few breaks in it so it's quite bright outside. A bit more a breeze now and the temperature is at around average for this time of year at 17C so all in all a rather pleasant July day.

what a grotty day its turned out to be.

The cloud from the start soon started to shed water from it and this continued into the early afternoon-no sign of any sun so far either. Max T=11.2C, it was 5C warmer than this for the overnight Min 2 nights ago. The coldest day since 3 June 2012.
