Actually it is not so bad as I thought in my last post, My mum left Reigate earlier than I thought she might have before the thunderstorms thankfully. Did also see unusually stormy seas at the beginning of this month, Just needed a rant after all the bad luck.

We had some dark skies to the north just now as a small very heavy shower moved to my north, but nothing more really.

There is a lovely sounding cell to my north over Sutton/Coulsdon - cloud structure around the outside is impressive with lots of low level stuff whipping in towards it. Just seen a 747 from heathrow taking a hard left as it came towards it.

Looking to my east though there is another large looking cell and its building nicely - just taken a look on NW R and it's just started to chuck out some rain so maybe storm 3 is on the way :)

Huge storm over Basildon at the moment, very slow moving, 3 IC strikes and very long and loud thunder!!

South of the Thames seems to have been the real sweet spot for storms today. The radar has looked stunning. Parts of Herts haven't done too badly either. As usual, light rain in north London not amounting to much. lazy.gif

Heavy hail storm to end my evening walk at 6.45 - looked up and the air was just white with hail, covering the pavements, came home with squelchy soaked-through trainers!

Getting hit by storm after storm here... Best day for it for a long time. Possibly the best I can remember...

surprisingly, not even a sprinkle here which was going against the forecast somewhat...Nice to see some in the sarf-east finally getting their slice of the storm 'pie' (don't ever complain about not getting a storm again!...lol) and still some lingering activity in a line stretching west to east south of London...Good call from Tony Gilbert over at TORRO & UKWW, he got the forecast spot on & also from our very own Nick Finnis

These storms are nuts - I keep looking for existing cells beyond guildford but they just pop up out of nowhere as soon as they hit 6-10 miles west of me.
