How about the longest dry spell anyone has ever recorded?

The longest here is 25 days in April 2011.

so weather boy's 5 near dry days don't count then, making me the gold medalist lol

Actually Heathrow Airport had 5 dry days that same week, so i've been beaten by someone's luggage at Terminal 5

Oi! It's my competition, so I get to set the rulesblum.gif

But it all turns out to be irrelevant because the winner so far (those outside the UK don't count!) is here:

I live in Fort William and i had no recordable rainfall until the 10 th of June. May was also very dry. See my recent post in the regional thread for more on our dry spell.

North-western Scotland, as predicted by me, although can it be beaten?

Oh dear it looks as though we're in for the first dry day this month so far. All the morning showers were to the south and there's a large shower-free wedge up-wind. I'm not at all hopeful that anything will develop later this afternoon as the ridge of high pressure moving in from the west will tend to kill off shower activity in all areas.

Since the start of the meteorological summer only two completely dry days have been recorded here - June 9 and 13. If trace amounts are discounted we've so far had 35 wet days out of 42 and the longest dry period was only 2 days - June 25-26.

Since I moved to Sandhutton this, at 2 days, stands as my longest consecutive dry spell, although before that there have also been several dry days with the odd spot of rain, the majority of which were overcast.

Yesterday was a rare example of a dry and fairly sunny day (the morning was mostly cloudy but it was sunny for most of the afternoon and evening), but today has reverted back to cloudiness, the sun shone for only 10-20 minutes at a push.
