Vast amounts of Stratocumulus this morning although it was quite bright with some brief sunshine between 07.00-08.30. Some light showers/drizzle since mid morning although barely enough to wet the ground.

Breezy from the WSW, 16.2c, 98% humidity.

Overcast, dry bar the odd bit of light drizzle, and 14.2C max so far, following an overnight minimum of 12.3C. 8/8 oktas stratocumulus. Presumably this "nothingness" is associated with the weak front that is slowly edging southwards across central and northern Britain.

It is also the coldest day since I set up my weather station in N Yorks at the start of the month- the previous lowest maximum was 16.4C during that very wet Friday and it's hard to see that being approached this afternoon.

Well its the 9th of July and its the 8th consecutive day with rain. Just as well the temperatures are somewhat reduced from normal let alone high compared to average, otherwise my back garden would ressemble something in Borneo!

No sign of the sun today here. A little drizzle in the morning but mainly dry until mid-afternoon when thicker areas of rain bearing cloud appeared amongst the general grey drudge and we've had a couple of short downpours. I'm still living off yesterdays unexpected summery moment.
