Heavy little shower just popped up between Preston and Lancaster.

Have just noticed some areas of the NW have been added to the "amber" warning for tomorrow - exactly 2 weeks to the day since the last one.

Small showers developing to the SE of here but nothing really worth getting excited over!

31mm of rain so far today and it's still coming down fast.

You've really been unlucky there under a shower train effect.

Dry all day here and warm with sunny spells.

34.9mm in the end, and at long last the dark clouds are moving away.

Banging over central Bowland Fells at present and edging a bit nearer to this corner. Lucky hereabouts so far, only a few drops ths afternoon.

Superb towering clouds and lots of floccus from late morning.

Very warm day. Max 23.0C. Not as hot as in the spell at the end of May though.

A line of heavy showers running from the east of Manchester up to Morecambe Bay

Yes. Like a noisy convoy of wagons! Just to the east of me.

Isolated cells built into a large line stretching from Barrow down to Nottingham. Had to switch to terrestrial tv signals it was that bad in Burnley. Should make Granada Reports interesting, Fred'll be wet through.

Christ, how wet is Europe for mid July!! Crazy! I think the regions worst affected will be Yorks, the Midlands, N Wales and the SW of England. Wouldn't be surprised to see rainfall amounts upto 80mms across the SW and widespread 70mms across the Midlands and Yorkshire. Combined with a wet outlook for the foreseeable, it doesn't bode well.
