Major flooding is affecting parts of england tonight up to 35mm of rain had fallen in one hour in Herefordshire.

A 66 year man died after being swept away by floodwater near Ludlow, Shropshire.

37mm of rain fell in six hours in Shobdon, Herefordshire this morning.

1 inch of rain fell in 20 minutes in Newcastle this afternoon

Else where rail services are suffering major delays in the north with Newcastle station been closed due to flooding.

Flooding and a landslip are causing disruption near Berwick-upon-Tweed with no trains running north of Newcastle

Flooding is causing disruption at Oxenholme Lake District. No trains are running between Lancaster and Carlisle

Newcastle has been badly affected today by storms the video below shows how luckly the drivers were
