Interesting variations between some of the lightning detectors available. If you look at the Meteorlogica site half the south and south east seems to be beset by storms but not showing on other sites. I suspect we'll stay relatively out of the main risk area?

Storm no.3 sorry EA guys that are storm starved today.

@guy in last thread, your mate was not lieing, about 10 miles easy of Leicester I realised all the fields were half white, there had been 10p piece at least sized hail, was amazed.

Stormy in Melton Mowbray noW

He's none too pleased about it all. I suppose non weather aficionados are likely to be hating it, especially if they are suffering because of it.

When you think about it, although many of us are a bit envious, there are many, many others there who would be envious of our sunny, hot day so far.

Anyone seeing any potential home grown storms building, after clear skies about 2 hours ago the cloud has started to bubble up in Southend now.

I know stuff is firing up now, closer to home - like Norfolk.

Edit and a shower is developing just to my west, near Chelmsford! The sun has gone in.

what the hell is that firing up in north france??????? http://www.netweathe...lightning;sess=

funny how it is not showing on the isle of wight radar????

If it's the storm east of Le Havre, it looks like it blows into the weeds anything seen in Britain today. Pity it's not heading our way.

I'm having major problems today, viewing the radar here and other models.

Yeah saw that, just shows how bad our weather can be sometimes.

When I knew there was a storm risk today I never imagined it would be this bad, think they may have been supercells earlier with loads of lightning and reported golf ball sized hail.

That storm the grew out of nowhere near Rouen is a beast.... It's huge and pretty severe probably more so than the ones up north today.... Shows how much energy there is waiting to be unlocked.... It's 27c here with dewpoint of 21c..... Sticky.... But quite a gusty wind....

Shall we all do a rain dance and will those storms over in Northern France to move in our direction?

I really think we should be rewarded for putting up with this heat and humidity!

Could do with a storm around here pretty hot and humid indoors. Would be nice if that storm to the north drifted south a little :-/
