I can hear distant thunder to my NW, very dark clouds over that way, I hope it makes it here.

Aye, getting one hell of a downpour here (Riccarton Campus near Ed Airport). Multiple rumbles of thunder from very close by.

My colleague cycled to work today from Leith - is looking out the window rather concerned....

EDIT. Wow - flashes of lightning nearby now.

Nice group of cells on Radar rotating SSW at present.

Overcast here, the canopy finally broken up and some sun getting through firing up the sferics. Link to netweather ATD Lightning detector.

If there is the same deluge's we are getting here? The term drowned rat for him (or her) would be a good term to use!

Ach , that was rubbish ... thought it was gonna be a direct hit here and it just kinda fizzled away.

Seen one good flash of lightning from it though and many loud rumbles , my appetite has been quenched for now. :)

Just spoke to my missus on the phone she was working in Cumbernauld today , massive storm she says , CG's all over the place .. massive booming thunder , lights flickering.

Time that 'storm' got here it farted and died. :(

Looks like there are a few heavy showers in the borders area.

Could be a fun drive home. Wish me luck...

Looks like those on the NW coast are getting a beast of a storm! Loads of sferics from it. It will be interesting to see whether this band starts pushing back east as it comes into contact with the rain band or whether or not it will just die out.

Today started okay and it felt quite pleasant at 1pm, then about twenty to two I saw incredibly black skies towards the east. Thunder started about two o'clock, got quite a few large rumbles, a few flashes and one bolt. The storm reached it's peak about 3pm before fizzling out and skies are less threatening now. Best storm in a while I'd say and it's good to get some excitement in the weather but it looks like more rain is on the way and I would hope to see some more sunshine and heat in July.

Was chasing the rain on my way home - all moved south now but you could see the aftermath on the roads.

Edinburgh Bypass was apparently a river at one point near calder - had eased to a modest stream by the time I forded it.

Sun just came out a minute ago - even some bits of blue sky...

Day started dreadfully, low cloud, cool and rain sweeping in from the sea till lunch, then... a fairly quick change to a reasonably good afternoon, almost warm in the sun and still a breeze. Quite bizarre, I thought, till remembered, this is Scotland, muppet!

Err, no storms though and good job too as that would have had me off work. Jeez, do you never get out? Is the weather just there for your entertainment? (Right that's probably used up all my brownie pointsblum.gif )
