Gonna give my guess now, I can't see any change during the first half of July dispite long range forecasts going for warmer weather I can't see much change from what we have now temperatures may be closer to average but thats all

My guess is slightly above average 17.1c hoping for a warmer second half to July

14.2c

Got a hunch this summer is going to stink the place out with the heat coming in September.

CET facts and trivia (sorry I didn't notice the thread until today) ...

25.2 ... highest daily mean, 29th 1948

24.7 ... second highest daily mean, 4th 1976

19.7 ... warmest July and month (2006)

19.5 ... second warmest (1983)

18.8 ... third warmest July (1783)

16.7 ... mean 1981-2010

16.6 ... mean 2001-2011

16.5 ... mean 1971-2000

16.1 ... mean 1961-1990, 1701-1800, 1901-2000

16.0 ... mean all years (1659-2011)

15.8 ... mean 1801-1900

15.6 ... mean 1659-1700

14.7 ... coldest July more recent (1980, 1988)

14.0 ... coldest July since 1922 (1965)

13.7 ... coldest July of 20th century (1922) ... only one day above 16.0 ... brrr

13.5 ... second coldest July (1695, 1802)

13.4 ... coldest July (1816)

9.4 ... second lowest daily mean (11th, 1888) ... 7 days from 6th to 12th averaged 11.5 (!)

8.7 ... lowest daily mean (20th, 1836) -- the only day below 9.0 between 26 Jun and 25 Aug)

The average for 1-11 July 1836 before that very chilly day had been 18.1 (a summer version of Nov 2010 for CET contest surprises)

I am posting CET daily records (for mean daily 1772-2012) at the link below, so far have posted January to April. Will soon post May and June.

I'll plump for a wholly unexceptional 16.1C.

I'd expect it to come in at around 16.1 or 2*C, but I'm hoping it turns out to be a nice 18*C. Probably unlikely but here's hoping. biggrin.png

My estimate: 17.1*C. Possible cool start I feel, but I personally believe from what I've read in the model threads that the Jet Stream will likely to be forced to go much further North to allow High Pressure to build over, or just to the East of us drawing in some rather warm air from the South. It's true that this probably won't happen at all considering a lot can change, but just have this feeling inside me that the second half of the month, at least, will have stronger influence from High Pressure to the South/South-West of us.

Come on then July, let's see what you got.

Doubtful of anything remotely summery during the first half, second half better?

17.5C says it will be. :)
