Well, we're here, sort of - just Owen to arrive now while we wait for Paul, Claire and Ian C to head north to meet us before cracking on for a drive up to North Platt for a sleep and then on to Minnesota for a nice risk or two.

Denver is basking in sunshine, with a slight smoky haze on the horizon from the huge wildfire in Northern Colorado, which some experts now think will burn in one way or another until Autumn.

To fill our time we'll be heading off shortly to the warehouse sized shop of dreams - Walmart and then off for a quick sight seeing trip to the mountains. Hopefully we'll have the car set up for streaming and chat ready for the amazing scenery and expected storm action tomorrow and onwards.

Ian

Well at 12,830ft above sea level, Summit lake presented us with a nice place to eat lunch. Schedule (and the slow drivers in front of us) meant we couldn't make the final drive to the summit. Oh well maybe next time.

I think the video showing the drive down needs speeding up slightly, to make it look truly death defying(well done Captain (nerves of) Steel - Ian)good.gif

Yep, all change and our first beer of the season instead of a manic drive north tonight.

So Denver is purty, reeeeal purty

No chase today?

There was a small chase this morning.

We left the hotel and decided on a southerly track. After a while taking in the latest TTC (TomTomcharts) we decided to head eastwards.

A quick check showed that the car park was the right place to be and we then went in to chase mode.

Two trolleys suddenly hit out and the chase was on. First it was left and then right, to the fruit and then the water, and finally we paused the chase at the deli for some sandwiches.

It was then all over the TTC warning had gone, and no sign of any delivery could be seen.

We made our way back to the parking lot, to live another day.

There was a possibility of heading south, 6 of us in one car, 3 hour drive for a maybe then a 3 hour drive back - beer won.
