Cloudy with showery rain overnight. The day dawned with broken cloud and bright spells. The morning to observation has seen cloud bubbling with showers looking likely.

Clear overnight, though temperatures were prevented from falling quickly by a continued force 2-3 easterly wind. Low 2.5c with 1.0c on the grass. The day dawned bright with sunny spells, high and mid level cloud increasing from the south. At observation, it has turned almost overcast within the last half and hour, still dry. The morning remained cloudy with a few spots of rain before lunch. The afternoon saw a spell of moderate rain before clearing around 14:00 GMT. The rest of the afternoon saw a few brighter spells only, cool again, top temperature 11.3c. The evening and night saw another spell of rain, this was moderate for a short time.

Surprisingly, sunshine and showers in Cleadon- the first showery day since the 21st April, as other showery days have tended to stay dry along the east coast of Tyneside. It was sunny with patchy cumulus earlier in the day. Currently 12.7C following an earlier high of 14.0C, which is, remarkably, the warmest it's been since early April.

Turned out to be a sunny afternoon with temp currently nudging 18.2°C. A few Cumulus clouds being swept along in a stiffish Westerly breeze gusting to 10.4mph
