A cloudy night with further light-moderate showers and intermittent hill fog.

Currently cloudy but dry with a shower in the last hour. Yesterday was the wettest April day on record here (35 years ), just beating the 2nd in 1989 by 0.2 mm.

Variable cloud through the night with light rain. The south east breeze picked up to 3-4. The day dawned cloudy with a few spots of rain. The rain became moderate and continuous by 06:30 GMT. At observation, continuous moderate rain, feeling cold and raw in the strong east wind gusting to 37 mph. Moderate rain, heavy at times continued through till mid afternoon accompanied by a strong at times gale easterly wind, top wind speed 41.3 mph. Feeling cold and raw in the rain. There was a brief brighter interlude around 14:30 GMT and the temperature reached 11.5c after sitting around 6c in the rain. The evening saw further light rain.

One or two heavy showers light winds and average temps. Could well make a new record today for the wettest April I've ever recorded.

Early morning showers cleared by 0830 g.m.t to leave the rest of the morning dry and cloudy. The cloud broke at times during the afternoon to allow a few brief sunny intervals but there were also a few short heavy showers. The warmest day of the month so far.

Well, this April is already the second wettest here, it could beat April 2008 which had 104mm, but we'll see.
