Here we go a nice new thread to discuss the April showers in the EA and SE regions...

This is where you can talk about local conditions, your thoughts on how things are panning out; are we heading for another ’76 drought or will summer be a damp squib ?

This is thread is geared for a more general 'chatty' discussion to give all members a chance to post and discuss the weather within our region and also to enjoy reading informative and occasionally humorous posts so please don’t be shy join in and share your thoughts.

Just a quick reminder to new members, or those who haven't yet done so to please put your location in your profile. You can do this by clicking on your profile (top right hand corner), then clicking "edit profile". Add your location and save!

Things looking pretty good, I want out of the no storms club! Best chance of the year so far today probably.

568k/kg CAPE and -1 LI seems pretty good, similar scenario for next few days too smile.png

Nice little storm here at the moment, maybe about 10 flashes of lightning, including several CG strikes, and some of the heaviest hail I've seen here for a while! It certainly hurt being outside in it.

The Milton Keynes lightning shield must be firmly in place this year - the thunder and hail seem to be completely missing MK, at this rate we will be the only people left in the no storms club....but there will be a one heck of a party drinks.gif

No storms here yet, but I'd be very surprised if I hadn't experienced one by this time next week.

Some dramatic low cloud over Colley and Reigate Hill, looks like the sort of cloud that drapes mountain tops in Snowdonia.

Also, this just appeared on the BBC news site - lightning causing travel problems

I was at a meeting in Putney and at about 13.00 hours there was this enormous flash of lightning that lit the room followed by one of the loudest cracks of thunder that I have ever heard. None of us in the room was facing the window and so that we did not know the weather was closing in. We all almost jumped out of our skins. It was very scarey as it was not anticipated. There was only one further clap of thunder and that was about twenty minutes after the first one, but that one was considerably quieter. The rain was fairly heavy for a time but nothing exceptional

Just hate this kind of weather, just watched bbc London forecast and it stays wet next week. I agree with the presenter - utterly miserable.

If I here one other person from TV or Radio talk about a drought I will scream.

Get real....

Showers seem to be pushing away from London now thank god.

Might b able to walk the dog in the dry around 5pm

Hope you managed to dodge the showers for your walk, nothing worse than walking in rain
