20c - late March

25c - mid-late April

30c - late June

35c - late July

40c - maybe, just maybe...

Yes, the first three predictions closely follow 2011. I think it will be similar to last year up until late June, with a warm April, mixed May, wet June with a late hot spell. Then I think that, unlike 2011, we will have further notable hot spells in July and August.

20c could be in reach on Monday under a strong blocking cell, Tuesday with light winds and a continental influence, Wednesday with a developed southerly flow, and Thursday with south-westerlies before the atlantic surges back.

Imo

Sunday top temp 16c

Monday 18c

Tuesday 19c

Wednesday 20c

Thursday 19c (foehn)

If 20°C is recorded by the middle of next week I will be more than a month late with my guess for the first 20°C - not a good start! The GFS shows a few 17°C days in the likes of Lincolnshire, but I would expect that to transpire to the odd isolated 20°C, provided the models don't change.

I must admit that'll feel very nice indeed, its just a pity that the weather or the models aren't giving us much of a show at the moment!

Havent seen 30c here in Cardiff in a long long time now well not since 2007. Warmest we've seen is 27c, top temp last year was 25c. Hope to see 30c this year, would love to have a hot summer, I would say 20c this month, maybe this week, 25c around May 5th and 30c at end of June.

I was expecting 20C to be recorded somewhere this week but this is looking less and less likely now with so much low cloud around that is lingering. Possibly still could happen but I think the odds are against it now.

Well 20C was officially reached today :good:

In Otterbourne, north of Southampton, it reached 20.2C.

I'm convinced that we will see 20c before the end of March in the UK this year. Therefore:

20C: March 22nd

25C: May 3rd

30C: June 9th

If the above post is correct I'm rather happy with my guess!!

The Met Office now has it on their website that it did indeed breach 20C at Otterbourne today, so well done on your guess! :)

Though it states 20.1C, not 20.2C, which was reported on Meridian Tonight by Simon Parkin.

Thank you, oh well as long as it's over 20C I don't mind. Looks like some places managed 21C today.
