Not a flake out here in the east. Not unexpected, but disappointing of course.

We have bust out I think tonight shrimper, reports from as close as wickford and benfleet but nothing here, wouldn't mind but you can't even tell if its close from the radar!

Snow getting heavier here and settling quite nicely :D:clap::cold::yahoo:

I do not understand why the public were not informed :wallbash:

I told you that an alert was issued to the Croydon Council of snow on the way and some slated me :diablo:

I'm only the messenger by the way :good:

Much more is on the way http://www.buienradar.nl/ :help:

this event has completely missed East Kent :( we still have plenty from the snowfall last weekend but it;s a shame we're not getting a top up tonight bar a few flurries.

Yep. Sometimes you just have to accept defeat. Its hard turning off the radar and drawing the curtains that give you the view of your favourite lamp post. But I think for us, this is what needs to be done.

Quite a few points and even more emoticons there Yamkin. Why would the public need to be informed about 1-2cms of snow at night? I suspect Croydon shouldn't see anything more than an inch so I don't think Croydon council need to over-react to a fluttering of snow showers??

LOL. Now they update the warning map and include us. 90 mins into the snow falling. Do these people not look at the radar?! Bizarre.

Btw I'm not having a go at the Met and the Beeb for the forecasting of this, more the nowcasting. The models were all over the place for this event, so it was always going to be difficult. But when you see live tv forecasts be completely contrary to what is going on at that moment in time, then that is something I find bizarre.

light in c.palace just up the road??? you should pop down here.. enough to start throwing snowballs from the parked cars

I certainly should - it's falling at a moderate rate now and all is now covered white, but not quite enough for snowballs yet. Here's hoping! Have fun in the meantime.

PS Amazing how your being two or three miles to the east can make such a difference. That's why I love the weather so much etc.

Good luck to you westeners (well west from me anyway) a bit sleety here. Cars, roofs etc have a dusting, but nothing on pavements, roads etc. I had a good fall of snow last Saturday/Sunday. so I hope the ones of you who missed out get something good tonight. :drinks:

Well not often the models bust so hard, the NMM from 2 days ago appears to have done the best job, but then it too also went a good deal too far west.

Anyway getting close to 1cm now here on the gras, not settling on roads/pavements and I don't expect it to either.

Here is a new thread folks:

CLOSING this one soon, last orders!!

The NW London/Herts border looks like it's doing well at the moment!

I think your right mate, the most annoying thing is the not knowing in terms of I just can't get a feel for whether to expect any due to the bloody radar issues, if i could clearly see from the radar I won't I can quite happily accept defeat but when you hear Rayleigh, Benfleet and Bas are getting hit it grinds abit!!
