Chance of some snowy fun evening and overnight thursday/friday folks on the GFS 12z

gfs-2-66.png?12

From the model thread and my fav American weather forecaster Mr Joe Laminate Floori

Jolaminate floori on twitter states " Major storm could blast UK in about a week with a widespread six inches or more

How about this one - An explosion at the local creamery, combined with locally cold weather conditions, could lead to a significant amount of cold and white stuff accumulating. COULD = maybe = probably not. Mr Floori is well known for his mental predictions, and he (very) occasionally comes up with the goods.

Again the met are showing the front stuck over Wales friday morning to Saturday precipation could start as snow ,who knows if it stays as snow should turn back to rain as the wind swings to a s westerly flow.

Some decent agreement of a NW flow around day 6, ECM 00HZ looks very promising, GFS and UKMO are decent but could do with the HP further west to allow for a showery flow.

Hopefully ECM 12hz can stand firm

Still yet to see a decent heavy dump of sea level snow here which we do manage at least once a year.

No lying snow here this Winter at 120m well inland!

Still no sign of anything significant here with high pressure so close by and the ever present marginal uppers!

Still yet to see a decent heavy dump of sea level snow here which we do manage at least once a year.

In the past fortnight, we had lying snow 3 times, unfortunately on each occasion it has thawed within 6 hours.

The last winter without any lying snow was 2007-08, and before that 1999-2000.

Fingers crossed for the potential NW next week, just wish it could a little bit further west, ECM 00Hz would do nicely!!!

I can remember getting a good few inches of snow just after St David's Day, and it settled right down to the beach, so there's still time yet. I think it may been 2006.

I live in Milford Haven

Which makes me Ravin

'because dont you know

We never get the ruddy snow!

They go on about these damn fronts

But we just get to bear the brunt

All we get is wind and rain

Which makes my life a bloody pain!

A miserable very sad and down hearted Woody waiting for Andymusic to cheer me up regailing tales of 6 foot drifts for the Westcoast!

Alpe d'Huez. Sat 11 - Sat 18 Feb. Cheers!

http://www.alpedhuez...ports/snow.html

This should give a good taster of the great conditions out there atm. A quick look a tonights models suggests no real warm up, so temps still likely to be very cold, with sub zero temps expected throughout next week, rainfall amounts much more difficult to pinpoint atm, but loooking mostly dry at the moment.
